Hey, everyone has a bad day. Some people more than others and days that turn into months even years! And when that happens, it’s noticeable to everyone around you including your coworkers and most importantly, your boss. It’s not easy for anyone to ignore and when you add it to the work load it adds negative energy… to that work load…for everyone. That is the a recipe for stress and unhappiness. Notice I’m referring to the bad day as everyone’s bad day, because it is! When you work in a team environment, the attitudes of its members directly effect morality on that team. This is nothing you don’t already know. What you may not consider on a daily if not hourly basis is how it ultimately affects your business. It’s not an easy job, in fact the best managers and business owners out there know it is one of the most important factors in what boosts their bottom line. It starts at the top. That’s why it pays to be the leader! Happiness of employees, turns into happy clients and customers.
Now pretend you want to purchase something from a real person right now, (yes we are lucky enough to still have the option to go to stores and talk to a real people!) It could be anything from a new outfit, to a wedding venue for that BIG DAY. Now picture walking up to that person and they don’t look happy to see you. They look stressed, and unhappy. Would you trust their opinion? Would you want to buy from them? Would you recommend them to someone close to you? Would you walk away positive and happy?
Now pretend you own a business and you’re really excited to start your first advertising campaign to spread the word. You are about to meet with a representative to go over services, packages and options to map out your campaign for your future success. When you do, they are…can you guess it what I’m going to say? Yep! they seem stressed, unhappy, unorganized, and here is a big one; they don’t even seem sold themselves. Like they could care less if you buy anything or not. Would you trust their opinion? Would you want to buy from them? Would you recommend them to someone close to you? Would you walk away positive and happy?
The point here is clear. If you want to boost business, try taking a look at the attitudes of your employees. If everyone is happy and actually want to come to work and make it a priority to have as much motivation as they can, you are putting yourself and your business in the best position to grow.
